Risking life and limb: Cairo cabs
Jackie D
View from a Cairo taxi

I blogged a couple of videos from a trip to Egypt in October, depicting a few moments of a taxi ride in Cairo. If you’ve ever been to urban areas in China or India, this sort of driving will not be anything new to you. If you haven’t, well, it still doesn’t compare with the experience of being pretty sure you’re going to die on a dusty road in Egypt.

What Cairo cabs lack in safety, they make up for in affordability. You can have a driver take you all around town, wait for you while you explore or have a meal, and deliver you back to your hotel (barring road death) for only a few pounds or dollars - including a big tip.
